"I sent a list of 7 questions to be answered to Bradley Watson on the 16th and did not get any reply. I'm out of town for a trip for a few days and the people still at the house can not make any decisions so I will have to try and talk to someone next week. These are the questions. I have been pondering about the different programs we talked about the traditional vs advantage and have several questions that were really compounded by reading Donelson Air's Better Business reviews. The reviews have raised some concerns. The questions are as follows: 1) Is the advantage program a lease program as was stated in several of the complaints? If I decided to leave before the 10 years would there be a balance owed? I am 69 and have my house set up to go to my great-nephews after my death, what if I were to die before the 10 years would they be left to pay something? 2) I read some complaints that said the products and parts were not covered under the advantage plan. Is there ever an out-of-pocket cost associated with it? 3). If I went for the traditional plan you said it would be paid off in 5 years with a 5.3 interest and the payments would be around 160. What unit is that for and what is the base cost and size of that unit? 4). If I went the traditional route and ended up paying it off early would there be any penalties? 5). Can I get a written proposal of the cost, the unit provided and length of the contract, what is covered and not covered so I can let my attorney look it over and make sure there isn't anything " hidden" in the details. 6). If I went the traditional route what is the warranty on the unit ? 7), If I went the traditional route can I get the yearly ( 120.00) program for winter and spring cleaning? Right now I am leaning towards the traditional as 24,000.00 seems a lot to pay for a unit that could cost as little as 6 or 7 thousand dollars and I don't know if I would be here in 10 years to reap the benefit of a replacement unit."

"Following our service appointment, we were given two options: to repair or replace our HVAC unit. We were offered the Advantage Program to help defer the cost of replacing the unit. After enrolling in the Advantage Program, we had second thoughts almost immediately and ended up cancelling because of costs and some uncertainty about the need to replace our unit. Shortly after cancellation, a CSR contacted us with another option, the Plus Membership Plan, which was more affordable and suited our budget and lifestyle better. We are now enrolled in that. W are sorry that the Plus Membership Plan was not discussed at the time the Advantage Plan was offered."

"The situation has not been fixed. Tech have come 2 times at a cost of $66. plus our regular service meeting. I am going to call again tomorrow and set up yet another appt. to clear out what ever debris is causing the fan to become jammed, thus making it brutally hot upstairs snd freezing cold down, Tech are in and out in minutes, temporarily fix, but the problem resurfaces within days. Aldo: I would expect that the filter would be changed as part if the regular service. The service man comes but seems to do as little as possible to get by. I am a long time customer, always used Donelson to the tune of many thousands of dollars and have less snd less confidence in your service team."

I physically showed the technician various things and also showed him photos from the home inspection. One of the issues was a split seam in the ducting in crawl space. I showed him exactly where it was and he said he would cover the seam with foil tape, yet he did nothing. Now, I cant trust that he truly did anything listed in the service notes. Not happy."

I called another independent technician who offered me a possible solution to my problem after talking to me for about 60 seconds and asking me 2 questions. (Drain lines clogged with mulch from landscapers). After flushing the lines - no problem. Guess I didn't need Chasen Waugh trying to sell me the Advantage program. Wow - what a shame - wish I could have paid almost $15,000 to Donelson Air over the next ten years for a $7,000 unit. Guess I'll just have to settle for spending $0 using my shop vac, spending 20 minutes, and cleaning out my drain lines. Would have been nice if the polite and timely technician would have suggested I try that first while he was looking at the unit in person, since the other guy was able to suggest it over the phone without even looking at it."
