"Promised time was reasonable considering that it was Sunday on a holiday weekend. However, I was told that I would receive a call from the technician (which never came). After calling in several times, got the same response - that the tech was on the way & would call. In actuality, the tech had been to the address & already left with the promise to return on Monday with the parts needed for repair. Waited all day Monday for a tech call (finally came at 4:30 pm), got another call from the office at 6:50 stating that tech would arrive within 30-40 minutes. 2 hours later, when no one had arrived, we called the tech back to learn that he wouldn't arrive until the next morning. Overall, very satisfied with Chuck & his service. Highly disappointed with the multiple persons taking phone calls & making false promises & passing the buck."

However he was alone on the job meaning he wasted a lot of time running back and forth between the outside unit and the inside unit. The job took 7 1/2 hours whereas with 2 technicians, is should have been finished in 4-5 hours. Also, on the first 2 visits to determine what the problem was, I did not receive a phone call advising that the technicians were on their way."

"my tech was an asshole when arriving at 9:30 pm. Didn't tell me what was wrong with my unit but didn't mind telling me the cost of $300.00 to fix it. Didn't take credit card but did take a check. Wasn't left no paper work for the work being done. He was very upset that he was their at 9:30 pm working on my unit. I wouldn't want him back at my place fixing on my unit. The sad thing about it was this unit was only 4 years old that was purchased by your establishment. I wouldn't think I would already start having problems with it. I'm not sure if I got charged correctly with not knowing what was wrong with my unit. VERY DISSATIFIED!!!! I WANT BE USING SERVICE EXPERT AGAIN AND WILL BE CANCELING THE MONTHLY SERVICE,"

Also, the sawdust in the crawl space should have been cleaned up. Otherwise, the job seemed fine. With regard to the system clean/check, all good but the tech should screw the homeowners hose back on the spigot when done."

"4-11-20 My three units were due for their checkup. My large unit which has all the parts outside was scheduled for a tune up. Both a techician and salesman came. They said I had a leak. I had not noticed any performance issues and generally wait unit the unit is no longer performing. They eventually sold me a new unit with a service contract for $150/month. I felt pushed to do the deal. The new unit is installed and I have never seen any documentation from the transaction and have not been billed. 5-28-20 One of my smaller unit stops cooling. Once again the technician and a salesman show up. I mention that I bought a unit a few weeks earlier and I'm a little distrustful of the policy. This unit has a leak. I have just purchased an expensive unit and am not prepared to do it again. They propose a leak check for $500, I said ok. Within 5 minutes they identify the leak and charge me $500. "We have had several problems with our thermostat losing power over the last week. We have had several techs, including the tech manager, here to look at the unit and no one could find an answer, even after my electrician came and replaced my breaker for the HVAC. We determined that the problem was likely the thermostat itself. When Sarah got here today to replace it, the new one didn't work either. She went upstairs to look at the air handler, she very quickly located the problem. An inline float switch was tripped in the drain line. She went outside, vacuumed out the drain line and located the problem. A large insect had somehow gotten into the drain line and clogged it up. The problem has been resolved, and the A/C is working wonderfully now. She was a total rockstar for locating what the others couldn't. She was very professional and I would love for her to get the recognition she deserves for a job VERY WELL done."

"The tech said that the compressor was broken and that there was nothing he can do to turn the AC unit on. I asked what the advantage program was he went over that. He said that he could not have me an estimate until monday. Which he has not called with the estimate. I asked if the repair would be over 1000 he said the piece alone is about 3000. He said it. Can take 2wks to get here but we can install a new unit by this Tuesday. He set up an appointment with Brad I told tech that I want the estimate first. When my husband got home I explained what the tech said . He went back by the AC moved a cable and everything worked. I am disappointed because I feel like he lied. When you say the compressor is broken there is no way to get it to turn on you need a new one. I thought it was the truth. But it has been working fine. Not only did I pay an additional 90.00 I paid 99.00 I july for a program so I didn't think I had to pay again"

On this trip, it was the same but the tech listened to me talk through the issue and provided valuable advice to identify what could potentially be causing the problems. Based on your tech's advice, I was able to discover that the damper motors are failing. I have been able to manually check and over ride my dampers based on your tech's advice. I have purchased two new damper motors and plan to install them myself. I went back inside, 10 minutes later, he left without giving me any kind of review or receipt. I called customer service they sent out another guy who did great and actually found that I needed a $230 repair. But after thinking about it some, it made me question the whole process as a whole and not be very satisfied."

"Elvis came out to "give us quotes" and it turned out to be like a used car salesman, trying to up-sale us to the most expensive model that we absolutely did not need. Huge turnoff. But as we waited for him to come, he went to the wrong address so it took much longer for him to get here. He then asked all the same questions about what the tech found (as though the tech didn't tell him anything at all about what we needed). Rewind to making the initial appointment, I did a "chat" with someone and took a lot of time to type in the history and a bunch of notes and none of it was passed on to the technician so I had to explain it all anyway. Between the tech and Elvis, they were at our house for over 3 hours....way too long. Technician was fine, but Elvis was way over the top with trying to make a sale. "If you don't decide right now, we may not be able to get you in until late this week. We are really, really busy you know." We ended up going with another company who diagnosed the issue in an hour, recommended a unit $3000 less than your cheapest unit, and installed it the next morning. I'm sure you are all knowledgeable in this field, but pushy sales is something many don't appreciate."

"Part of the problem I had with this visit is I find it distasteful when technicians/customer service bad mouth competition. This wasn't the first Donelson Air or another provider technician that has done this. Donelson Air installed my heat pump about 9 years ago. The first problem with this visit is the young lady on the phone who made the appointment did not inform me there would be a $99 charge for someone to come out. You might assume that I should know that, but I did notit was not a given. Second problem with this visit is that although it was scheduled between 6-8pm last Friday, the technician did not call to let me know he was on the way. He did show up in the timeframe he was expected, but this is the first time a technician has not called in advance to say they were 5, 10, 30 minutes away. The first few years I had the unit, Donelson provided the maintenance program. My maintenance program is with another provider now. I was led to believe by the other tech that by calling the original installer of the unit issues may be covered under the 10-year warranty. I called. Both techs bad mouthed home warranty companies as well. So already I have a poor opinion of either companys ability to be professional. According to the Donelson tech, there is no problem. I told the Donelson tech that I had been told there was a leak, but he could not find it. He used 2-3 pounds of coolant because it was low. The Donelson tech said if its 2-3 pounds low on a capacity for 8-9 pounds, theres a significant leak and the other company overcharged me (his opinion) and should have found it. The Donelson then tech offered to charge me another $500 to find the leak. When I heard that, I declined that offer and wondered how much it would cost to fix the leak. He charged me $99 to tell me he couldn't do anything. The other tech installed UV lights for $500. This system had an additional filtration system that helped with allergens that SHOULD have been cleaned/changed every year at least this is what the Donelson tech told me and this is the FIRST time Ive ever heard that. Sure, techs each year would suggest it be changed, but never that it HAD to be changed. The other tech said there was no point in changing the filter and UV light at this point, removed the add-on filtration unit & light, and installed the new light. From both organizations everyone made it seem like an option, not a have to to change the units outside filter once a year. So, if its in bad condition because it has never been changed, then neither tech has been sufficiently trained to explain to consumers in lay terms that it has to be changed. Its always communicated as an option, not a have to like the inside filters that are changed religiously once a month. My frustration is that both techs seemed more concerned with selling me a new unit and bad mouthing the competition (maybe deservedits hard to tell because everybodys pointing fingers) than explaining in lay terms how to best use and maintain my existing unit. Resolution: given I may need to purchase a unit within the next year, Id like a refund of the $99 I paid the Donelson Tech for nothing. Sure, theres the value of his time, etc., but given these circumstances, I think we can call this one a wash and return the $99."
