We are making our way through the last of the weeks of winter but we still need our furnaces, especially during cold nights. There’s not a lot that is worse than going to bed at night just to realize your furnace won’t start up. If you find yourself in this situation, here are a couple things you can check yourself before your call Donelson Air Service Experts.
Check Air Filters
You should change standard air filters each month. If you fail to do so, they can become clogged, obstructing air flow and causing your furnace to malfunction.
Check Your Thermostat
See if turning the temperature up a few degrees will get the furnace to turn on. If the actual room temperature is higher than the thermostat, the furnace won’t run. Also, verify the system switch is on “heat” or “auto.”
Check the Power
It may seem silly, but make sure the power switch next to the heating equipment is “On.” Even gas heating equipment uses electricity so confirm the breaker has not tripped and that the power switch was not accidently flipped to the “Off” position.
If you review all these things and your heating equipment will still not turn on, give Donelson Air Service Experts a call at 615-953-9885 and we’ll come out and get you heating again as soon as possible.
