When you want heating, cooling or plumbing services from Service Experts Heating, Air Conditioning & Plumbing, you will handle the trip charge and a diagnostic fee independently. Many companies you’ve hired in the past might have combined the trip charge and diagnostic fee, but we think we can provide you with even more value by keeping them separate.
A trip charge covers the cost for a certified plumber or HVAC technician to stop by your home. Occasionally called a service call fee, this charge is the standard rate for delivering our technicians, equipment and expertise to your doorstep. If you want to avoid trip charges in the future, you can consider registering for one of our membership programs.
The diagnostic fee covers the services needed to determine the root of a problem. In plumbing, this may include scoping. For HVAC repairs, it might involve examining the inside of your system. If you prefer to use Service Experts Heating, Air Conditioning & Plumbing for your repairs, the diagnostic fee will be rolled into the repair bill. However, you are charged for the diagnostic services alone if you do not.
In most cases, a trip fee covers sending the plumber or HVAC technician to your property, while the diagnostic fee covers all the work concerned with evaluating the problem and figuring out a plan for repairs. If you are paying for repairs, you won’t even notice the diagnostic fee because it will be absorbed into the cost of the repairs.
Other plumbers and HVAC companies charge one single fee for both the trip and the diagnostics. Instead of charging you for two services at the same time, we prefer two individual fees. This enables us to price our services in the fairest available manner.
