What Are Common Air Conditioning Problems?

Donelson Air Service Experts is here with a few of the most typical air conditioning problems in Nashville.

  • No Cool Air

If you can hear your air conditioning system working but there isn’t cool air coming out, you might need to have your refrigerant levels analyzed. Refrigerant is what helps make sure the air being produced by your air conditioner is actually cool. Call Donelson Air Service Experts and we’ll come out and review your refrigerant levels and look into why your system is not giving off cool air.

  • Fan Won’t Rotate

A reason your condenser fan might not be rotating could be that it simply burned out and you require a replacement. Humidity could cause more condensation so a second issue to watch for is that the water is not draining right or that the drain is blocked. If you can verify these matters, you may be able to pinpoint the problem; if not, give Donelson Air Service Experts a call and we can investigate what has stopped your condenser fan from rotating and discuss your options to get your system up and running again.

  • Not Cooling Properly

First, try lowering the temperature on your thermostat. It seems simple but sometimes we overlook the obvious. If that doesn’t get your system cooling, check the air filter. If the air filter is blocked, it could cause major cooling problems. Another issue that could cause your lack of cooling is that your air conditioner is not sized properly, and unfortunately this is a frequent issue when homes are constructed. Donelson Air Service Experts will come out and do an analysis to determine if the size of your unit is causing your troubles.

  • System is Short Cycling

If your system is short cycling, or turning on or off constantly, it could mean one of several things. One is that your condenser or evaporator is dirty and needs cleaning. Once the system is cleaned and all blockages removed, you may be back in business. Note that humidity also plays a role so if your home cools to the right temperature, but then the humidity causes your home to warm back up, it could result in on-again, off-again air conditioning because it’s having to work harder to keep your home cool.

No matter your trouble, whatever air conditioner trouble you run into, Donelson Air Service Experts is here for you 24 hours a day so we can get you comfortable quickly.
