What Are Common Air Conditioning Problems?

Donelson Air Service Experts is here with some of the most typical A/C problems in Nashville.

  • No Cool Air

If you can hear your air conditioner working but there isn’t cool air coming out, you may need to have your refrigerant levels analyzed. Refrigerant is what helps make sure the air being produced by your air conditioner is actually cool. Call Donelson Air Service Experts and we’ll come out and examine your refrigerant levels and look into why your air conditioner is not giving off cool air.

  • Fan Won’t Rotate

One reason your condenser fan might not be rotating could be that it merely burned out and you need to replace the fan. Humidity could cause more condensation so a second problem to watch for is that the water is not draining right or that the drain is obstructed. If you can verify these matters, you may be able to pinpoint the problem; if not, give Donelson Air Service Experts a call and we can investigate what has stopped your condenser fan from rotating and discuss your options to get your system up and running again.

  • Not Cooling Properly

First, try lowering the temperature on your thermostat. It seems simple but sometimes we overlook the obvious. If that doesn’t get your air conditioner cooling, take a look at the air filter. If the air filter is blocked, it could cause significant cooling problems. Another issue that could cause your insufficient cooling is that your air conditioner is not sized properly, and unfortunately this is a common issue when homes are constructed. Donelson Air Service Experts will come out and do an analysis to determine if the size of your unit is causing your troubles.

  • System is Short Cycling

If your AC is short cycling, or turning on or off constantly, it could mean one of several things. One is that your condenser or evaporator is dirty and in need of cleaning. Once the equipment is cleaned and all obstructions removed, you may be good to go. Note that humidity also plays a role so if your home cools to the right temperature, but then the humidity causes your home to warm back up, it could result in on-again, off-again air conditioning because it’s having to work harder to keep your home cool.

No matter your problem, whatever air conditioner trouble you run into, Donelson Air Service Experts is here for you 24 hours a day so we can get you comfortable quickly.
