You can use your smartphone to adjust your Lyric Thermostat no matter where you are, and the Lyric also integrates with Apple HomeKit, Apple Watch, and Samsung SmartThings.
But over time, the Lyric will learn your home’s behaviors – when you turn the air up, when you turn it down, when you are there, and when you leave. It has the ability to enable geofencing so your Lyric can really see where you are and, once it knows how long it takes your heating system to heat the home or your air conditioning system to cool it, it will determine when you are that length of time away from the house and automatically adjust your heating and cooling systems so that it is the desired temperature when you get home.
It also notifies you when the air filter needs to be switched!
All of these features don’t just save you time and stress, they save you money. As the Lyric Thermostat learns all your heating and cooling behaviors, it regulates your heating and cooling systems to save on energy bills. When it knows that during the winter you’re going to be gone from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., the Lyric will automatically adjust your furnace temperature lower and then, when it sees you’re about an hour away from home, it starts pushing the temperature back up to prepare for your arrival.
Does it only take your furnace 35 minutes to get your home to a comfortable temperature? No worries! The Lyric learns that, as well, and will hold off until 5:25 p.m. to start turning the heating system back on but it provides the same result – home comfort with energy savings.
