The Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning Corporate Office in Plano, TX was honored to give over 300 pounds of food to Minnie’s Food Pantry, also located in Plano, TX.
“Last fall, I had the opportunity to get a group of colleagues to volunteer at Minnie’s and it was an incredible experience,” said Amanda Wilson, Operations Specialist for Service Experts. “They go above and beyond providing food – they are an essential part of this community.”
Cheryl Jackson began Minnie’s Food Pantry as a way to recognize her mother, Minnie Hawthorne-Ewing D.D., who spent much of her childhood wondering if and where she would get her next meal. Not only does Minnie’s provide free healthy meals to families in need, they also hold classes to teach families how to incorporate the food they get to create nutritious, long-lasting meals. They also give resume help along with financial and job classes to help members of the community get back on their feet.
Since the families receive approximately 50 pounds of food to get them through the month, Service Experts was able to provide meals for six families for the month.
“Everyone was so thrilled that we had this food drive for Minnie’s Food Pantry, and they even took us around their awesome facility,” Wilson said.
