Painting Vans Pink in the Fight Against Breast Cancer

September 27, 2016

This October, two of our Service Experts centers will be making a statement with pink vans. Fras-Air/General Service Experts and Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning of Raleigh are both going to paint two of their work vans pink for the fight to end breast cancer.

Throughout the month of October, Fras-Air/General Service Experts will be donating 20% of all sales from their pink vans to their local Susan G. Komen chapter to help raise money to help cure breast cancer. Service Experts of Raleigh will be giving 5% of all sales from their pink vans and also donate $10 for every heating tune-up to their local chapter, Susan G. Komen North Carolina Triangle to the Coast.

This is the second time Fras-Air/General Service Experts has painted a couple of their vans pink to raise money for breast cancer. In 2015, Fras-Air was able to raise over $7,000 for Komen North Jersey. General Manager David Schneider and one of his workers both lost their mothers to different forms of cancer and were inspired to help other families.

“The National Cancer Institute said that 107,184 women in New Jersey faced breast cancer in 2016,” Schneider explained. “While the quantity of cases is actually going down each year, that still constitutes a huge number of families who are grappling with this disease, and that means there’s a serious need for research and support.”

Chris Overton, the General Manager for Service Experts of Raleigh, reiterated Schneider’s feelings. “As reported by the North Carolina State Center for Health Statistics, breast cancer is the number one type of cancer in our state – for women and men.”
